What exactly is a milky toner?

A milky toner is a lightweight, lotion-textured formula that sits between a traditional toner and a light moisturiser. Unlike old-school toners that stripped oil and disrupted pH, milky toners are designed to hydrate, deliver lipids, and strengthen the skin barrier. Think of it as the first layer of real nourishment after cleansing — it prepares your skin to absorb everything that follows more effectively.

I've never used a milky toner. Do I really need one at my age?

This is actually the age where a milky toner makes the most difference. After 40, your skin's natural ceramide production drops significantly, leaving your barrier thinner and less able to retain moisture.
