Fruit Acids (AHA)

Fruit acids are a powerful AHA derived from sugary fruits to work on the surface of your skin to deeply exfoliate, brighten and improve your skin's texture. Leaving your skin with a smooth and radiant glow.

Our fruit acids are a blend of bilberry fruit extract, sugarcane extract, orange fruit extract, lemon fruit extract, and sugar maple extract.

Marshmallow Root Extract

Derived from the marshmallow plant (not actual marshmallows). It will soothe redness, relieve inflammation and help to retain moisture in your skin to keep it hydrated for longer.

Glycerin

[say it like] gli•suh•ruhn

I'm not sure if you know this, but glycerin is sourced from organic coconut oil (yes, organic). It's a humectant that prevents water loss in your skin to keep it hydrated and moisturised for longer (AKA dream skin).

Finger Lime Extract

[say it like] fing•gur lyme x•trackt

Gently exfoliates loose dead skin cells to reduce oil build-up in your skin, and even out skin tone. Improves skin hydration and supports collagen production.

Pentavitin

[say it like] pen•tah•vai•tin

Naturally derived from plant extract (saccharide isomerate) this carbohydrate can mimic the make up of the sugars naturally found in your skin's outermost layer to instantly hydrate your skin for 72 hours, meaning hydration continues long after application and it can’t be washed away. Restore your skin's barrier function and relieve irritation.

Kakadu Plum

[say it like] ka•kuh•doo pluhm

Known for having the richest source of natural vitamin C, this antioxidant promotes collagen production to keep skin looking plump and retain moisture. Brightens skin tone.

Jojoba Oil

[say it like] ho•ho•bah oi•ill

Jojoba oil is a liquid wax and a natural occlusive agent, which moisturises, nourishes and protects your skin. Jojoba oil is a similar consistency to your skin's natural oils, making it a great option for oily skin as it helps to regulate sebum (oil) production and is non-comedogenic (meaning it won't clog your pores).

Coconut Oil

[say it like] kow•kow•nut oi•ill

The smooth talker. Coconut oil is used as an emollient and is very moisturising for your skin. It's an amazing all-round ingredient, and is ultra hydrating and moisturising for your skin. It helps reduce flakiness, restores suppleness and helps protect your skin from water loss. Plus, it's an organic ingredient. A dry skin must-have, FYI.

Hemp Seed Oil

[say it like] hemp seed oil

Hemp seed oil is rich in both omega 3 and 6 and provides long-lasting moisture. With continuous use over time, it helps improve your skin's ability to retain moisture. Locally sourced from Manawatu.

Sea Buckthorn Oil

[say it like] see buck•thorn oi•ill

Naturally derived from the sea buckthorn plant to help repair and regenerate your skin to promote a youthful complexion. It is also what gives Elevate its bright yellow colour.

Sunflower Seed Oil

[say it like] sun•flouw•er seed oi•ill

Sunflower seed oil is rich in both linoleic and oleic acids, and vitamin E. It easily penetrates your skin for deep moisturising and reduces inflammation. Antioxidant properties fight signs of ageing caused by free radical damage.

Shea Butter

[say it like] she•ah butt•err

Shea butter is a super nourishing ingredient that moisturises and smooths dry and irritated skin. It creates a protective barrier to lock in hydration.

Aqua (Water)

[say it like] a•kwuh

The main carrier of the mask, used as the base as a solvent, which is what the other ingredients dissolve into to create the formula.

Benzyl Alcohol

[say it like] ben•zile al•kuh•hol

We're about to be very transparent with you here. This is our chosen preservative system in our skincare range. Benzyl alcohol is a powerful broad-spectrum antibacterial preservative used to stabilise skincare. It is multi-purpose (think Tailor) as it also helps dissolve other ingredients and decreases the viscosity (thickness) of formulas so they flow more easily.

Dehydroacetic Acid

[say it like] dee•high•jrow•seat•ick acid

One of our preservatives in Renew with a potent anti-fungal to keep this cleanser safe to use for longer - because we all love a long shelf life. When mixed (& matched) with benzyl alcohol they create a broad-spectrum preservative against yeasts, moulds and funguses. Take note, our preservative system is synthetically derived and is ECOCERT certified to be used in natural skincare.

Sclerotium Gum

[say it like] scla•roche•ee•uhm gum

This natural gum formulates an instant gel base when mixed with water.

Acids

An AHA to help remove dead skin cells on your skin, which will smooth skin texture, reduce dark spots / hyperpigmentation, fine lines and acne, as well as provide a deep cleanse into your pores to reduce large pore sizes. This includes lactic acid, glycolic acid, malic acid and tartaric acid.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride

[say it like] cap•reye•lick•cap•rick try•gliss•erh•ride

A natural alternative that has antioxidant smoothening properties for your skin.

Xanthan Gum

[say it like] zan•thumb gum

This plant polysaccharide ​​hydrates your skin without clogging your pores. And with long term use, it's been *scientifically proven* to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Glyceryl Stearate

[say it like] glis•suh•rill stear•ate

This is one of our emulsifiers, which is a naturally derived fatty acid. It prevents oil and water from separating in Elevate, and helps to stabilise oil and water emulsions. It opens the pathway for other active ingredients to absorb into your skin, without compromising your skin barrier. It also doubles as an emollient, which acts as a natural lubricant to soften and smoothen your skin, also forming a protective barrier to hold in moisture.

Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate

[say it like] sow•dee•uhm stear•oll glue•ta•mate

This is one of our emulsifiers, which prevents oil and water from separating in Elevate, and helps to stabilise oil and water emulsions. It opens the pathway for other active ingredients to absorb into your skin, without compromising your skin barrier. It's super gentle on your skin, as it deeply conditions, nourishes and smoothens your skin. FYI, great for dry and dehydrated skin.

Cetearyl Alcohol

[say it like] seat•air•role al•kuh•hol

This is one of our emollients, which is an oil-based formula which forms a protective film over the skin to hold moisture in the skin. It will deeply soften and smoothen your skin.

Cetyl Palmitate

[say it like] set•ill palm•itate

This is one of our emollients, derived from naturally occurring fatty acids. This is an oil-based formula which forms a protective film over the skin to hold moisture in the skin. Also a thickener, this emollient will smoothen and condition your skin. FYI, great for dry skin.

Carrageenan Gum

[say it like] cara•gee•nan gum

This is one of our texture enhancers, also known as seaweed gum, it's a natural thickener that has water-binding properties. It will help improve Elevate's texture, stability and penetration, as it makes this formula feel smooth to apply.

Sodium Phytate

[say it like] sow•dee•uhm feye•tayt

The stabiliser in the group. It is a texture enhancer to make formulas feel smooth to apply, and it is also a preservative which keeps skincare safe and free from microbes (aka nasties). We call this multi-purpose.
